Paid users will also gain a reasoning slider across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. These assessments included financial, medical, and legal prompts requiring precise factual responses. OpenAI reported that answers with at least one factual error decreased by roughly 62% with GPT-5.6 Luna compared to GPT-5.5 Instant. For GPT-5.6 Sol, the reduction was about 68%. The company further noted that Sol improved its handling of dates, numbers, sources, rules, and assumptions where accuracy was critical.
Unlimited chat access remains under separate safety controls
OpenAI emphasized that its newest ChatGPT models incorporate additional protections for users under 18.
