Sharjah-based Air Arabia Adds New Flights to Amman City Airport Starting November 2026

    October 9, 2026

SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to begin direct flights from Sharjah International Airport to Amman City Airport on November 15, 2026. The airline will operate this route four times weekly, establishing another direct link between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia connects Sharjah with Queen Alia International Airport, providing travelers access to two airports serving Amman. The new service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Air Arabia launches Sharjah flights to Amman City Airport
Sharjah gains another direct Amman connection as Air Arabia expands its Jordan network.

Flight G9 169 will leave Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and reaches Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Reservations are now available through Air Arabia’s website, call center, and travel agency network. The airline announced the new route on October 8, more than a month ahead of the inaugural flight.

This development extends Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan network, complementing routes from Abu Dhabi and Alexandria. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi already connects Zayed International Airport with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, the group operates direct flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah route provides travelers another departure point for journeys to Jordan’s capital.

Sharjah network adds a second airport in Amman

Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated that the new service offers travelers an additional airport option in Amman. He emphasized that this route will enhance convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between Jordan and the UAE. The airline will continue its existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, making Amman City Airport a second gateway in Jordan for Air Arabia’s schedule from Sharjah.

Earlier this year in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched flights to Amman City Airport, beginning on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. Before introducing this second Jordanian airport, the Abu Dhabi operation already served Queen Alia International Airport. The airline reported that the expanded Abu Dhabi schedule offered 10 weekly flights to Amman when the new service started. The new Sharjah route will now add another four weekly flights to the Jordanian capital, expanding the group’s connectivity options.

Four weekly flights strengthen Jordan-UAE air links

Throughout its published schedule, the new routes from Sharjah will operate under the G9 169 and G9 170 flight numbers. Air Arabia’s fleet primarily consists of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline also features SkyTime entertainment, SkyCafe onboard meals, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Customers can reserve seats on the new Amman City Airport flights via the airline’s usual sales channels ahead of the scheduled launch in November.

This November expansion enhances Air Arabia Group’s network connecting the UAE and Jordan through multiple operating bases. Passengers from Sharjah will have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Meanwhile, passengers from Abu Dhabi already benefit from services to both airports via Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Alexandria also maintains a direct route to Amman City Airport. The addition of the Sharjah flights will bring four weekly services to the Jordanian capital as part of the airline’s wider Jordan schedule.
